• How do I know if the problem warrants counseling?

  If your problem has stayed for more than a few weeks or if the problem is interfering with how you want to live your life it is time to seek counseling.

• What do I do if I think my adolescent needs therapy but they refuse?

  Call anyway.  We can usually help you get your teen through the door.

• How much does counseling cost?

  Therapy costs between $180 and $300 per 45-50 minute session depending on which therapist you see. Group therapy is $125 per 60 minute session or $450 if 4 sessions are paid upfront. Reduced fee slots are available from time to time for both individual and group counseling, so if you’re worried about cost, call anyway. Even if one of us doesn’t happen to have a reduced fee slot, we’ll still provide you quality referrals.

• How long will my teen need to attend therapy?

  This depends on the issue.  It often ranges from a couple months to a year or more.

• How involved am I in my teen’s counseling as a parent?

  You have a very important role in your teen’s counseling.   Things improve faster if you work to make suggested changes as well.  This helps reinforce what is being done in therapy.

• Are you accepting new clients?

  This varies from time to time.  Usually we can find a space for you.  If not, we will give you referrals to other good counselors.

• When do you see clients?

  Afternoons and evenings on weekdays.  We also offer some Saturday appointments.  Online appointments are an option as well.

• Where are you located?

  There are two locations.  One office is at 26040 Acero, Mission Viejo, 92691.  The second office is at 1151 Dove St., Ste. 100, Newport Beach, 92660.  We also offer online sessions.

• Do you accept insurance?

  We do not accept insurance.  This is because insurance often places limitations on treatment that are not necessarily beneficial to your teen.  If you would like to use your insurance company we are glad to fill out the necessary paperwork if services are covered.  Please call for more information on how to determine if counseling is covered under your insurance as every plan is different.
